Value a
ancestral know-how

Embroidery is an art that consists of adding a flat or raised pattern to a fabric made with simple threads or sometimes by integrating materials such as beads, leather, stones, etc.

An art that is passed on...

Embroidery is an ancestral know-how and a traditional art rooted in Moroccan popular culture, This art is passed down from generation to generation, each of which keeps the secret. There is even a repertoire of local motifs which provide information on the geographical origin of the embroideries.

It is a meticulous work focused on the precision of the craftswoman where the eye watches over and arranges the colors. It is a permanent dialogue between the thread and the needle.

The art of long time and precision

The embroideries are done with a needle, with or without a hoop, depending on the needs of the patterns and stitches. Some patterns require the laying of a tracing paper on stretched fabric. Other designs, such as Dotted or Zig and Chip, require the laying of a canvas that will be removed at the end of the work by hand or with tweezers...a long but necessary job to embroider straight and true!

The embroidery threads used are cotton, sabra, and sometimes lurex threads. DMC threads are often used because they are of very good quality and strength of their colors is perfect.

It takes between 2 and 9 hours to embroider 1 meter of the embroidery that adorns our linens. For a duvet cover, it takes an average of 30 hours of work, including cutting, sewing, decorative embroidery, and ironing.

Embroidery, the art of good

This beautiful embroidered linen is the fruit of the work of women grouped together in associations and cooperatives. By earning their living locally, they can thus emancipate themselves and stay with their families and also adapt their work schedules to their life as women, of mother, etc.

Embroidery work brings dignity and recognition to the women in the workshop and allows them to come together to talk, laugh and exist...
